VIRUS ALERT!

UPDATE!
A new version of this has been making its way around the Internet. As with XPAntivirus, it will infect your computer if you click on it. You are not infected if you don't click it. If you do click it, and it infects your PC, MalwareBytes can get rid of it.

A very insidious virus is making its way around the Internet. It's named XP ANTIVIRUS, but we have encountered cases with the name XP ANTIVIRUS 2008 as well. Here is a screen shot of what it looks like when you first encounter it. When you first see this window, your computer has not yet been infected. DO NOT click on ANY buttons or links in the XP ANTIVIRUS window! Close the window immediately and leave the web page that you were visiting when you encountered the XPAV window.

The only application that has proven itself to remove this virus is MalwareBytes by Malwarebytes Corporation
